We continue to follow the Assassin, Celaena Sardothien after she has won the contest to be the king’s champion.

There are mysteries beneath the glass castle and Celaena is seeking justice, but she isn’t the only one. She has begins to wonder her allegiances with the Dorian, the Crown Prince, Choal, the Captain of the Guard and especially her best friend Nehemia, a foreign princess.

One terrible night the mysteries have shown a secret which results in a shocking event. Celaena’s world comes crashing down and she is forced to act. She must quickly work out where her true loyalties are and decide who she will fight for and who will be sacrificed.

This book is a great continuation of the Throne of Glass series. Always kept me wanting to read and talk to people about this series and book. There was so many OMG moments and just kept me wanting to keep reading to find out how the characters would think and react to all the different situations that they come across in this book.

This series is probably the fastest series I have read to date that has the amount of pages that these books do. There is a decent amount of pages but when you fly through them so quickly then it doesn’t seem so daunting.

Everything, Everything – Nicola Yoon

Imagine being someone that is allergic to the world. Not being outside the house in 17 years. There is no one that enters or leave the house except her mum and the nurse that looks after her, Carla.18692431

Madeline “Maddy” Furukawa Whittier looks outside of her bedroom window and see a moving truck pull up to the house next door. There is a boy, tall, lean and wearing all black. His name is Oliver “Olly” Bright. Maddy knows she will fall in love with Olly and that will cause problems with her illness.

Which will be the strongest. Protecting herself by staying in her house due to her illness or brave the outside world for love.

Review: I found the way this book was written was something a bit different. The capters went from time lines to emails, to normal chapters to diary entries. This book was easy to read and kept me entertained and allowed me to get knowledge from different points of view of what the characters were thinking.

This book gives me an idea on what it would be like to have a condition (like being allergic to the outside environment) would impact on my life. I wouldn’t be able to leave the house, socialise or be able to do anything outside. There are cases like this in our society where people have to life like this day in and day out. This books shows me how lucky I am to be able to go on adventures, go to the beach, be able to work – have an income, go to family or friend events without blinking an eye, i can just get up and go.

It would be so frustrating just seeing the same four walls each day and night. Curiosity would get to me and make me think if I was actually sick and couldn’t go outside or if an experience in my past has caused this outcome to be my reality.

Throne of Glass – Sarah J. Maas

Celaen Sardeothien is an 18 year old assasin that had to serve a year of hard labour at the salt mines in Endovier. She is taken to the Prince, Prince Dorian where he offers her freedom on one condition. She must act as his champion in a competition to find a new royal assassin.Image result for throne of glass review

Men-thieves, assassins and warriors have been pulled from their kingdom to compete. If Celaen managers to defeat her opponents in a series of eliminations, she will serve the kingdom for fours years and then be granted freedom from the salt mines and the royal assassin position.

Her training is undertaken by the captain of the guard, Choal Westfall, which makes it challenging and thrilling day in, day out. The relationship with Nehemia Ytger, the Princess of Ellywe, happens spontaneously and they build a bond between the two strong female characters.

Prince Dorian shows an interest in her as time goes on but Choal is the one that spends the time with Celaen and understands her best.

As the competition progresses one contestant turns up dead and then other quickly followed behind. Celaena needs to figure out who is the killer that is causing all this drama. Can she manage to do this before she is the next one dead.

I have heard that there are quite a few mixed reviews on this book which made me unsure whether I wanted to read this book or not. However, I found this book very entertaining and kept me wanting to sacrifice sleep for turning each page to find out where the book would go from page to page. The relationship Celaen has with the other characters in the book have been thought out so well is consistent through the whole book. I haven’t read a book about assassins before and this was a great start to a series I will continue to read. Although these books are quite long it didn’t seem that way when I kept turning page after page. This is one of the quickest books I have read in a long, long time.

Harry Potter Series

I absolutely love Harry Potter and the way that it takes you to another world while enjoying it in the comfort of your home with a warm blanket, fire burning and a hot chocolate (has to be hot chocolate as I get migraines from coffee).

The problems that three main characters, Harry, Hermione, and Ron get into always keeps you wondering what will happen next. What will J.K. Rowling have just around the corner for readers. I don’t think I have had anyone dislike Harry Potter but I know everyone has their own opinion and a always entitled to it.

There is always the main story and each book is finished off making people want more and more. However I am not sure what to think of the last book, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child as it is written in stage play format which is completely different to the way the other books in the series are written.

The different magical creatures that are brought into the story from the flying car that Ron’s parents have, the Pegasus in the woods at Hogwarts, the floating candles, the moving staircase at Hogwarts and the Platform 9 and 3/4 are all new and original ideas that I have always looked forward to with each book I have read.

I am waiting for a spin off series that is in the same format as the others books (not a play) for a “in the future” with Harry’s children.

Starting Out

Hi guys

My name is Rechelle and I am creating this page to be able to keep all of my book related to be read books, new releases, review and any other type of information I can think of. I am currently 26 years old an work full time in retail however I have found that I want to peruse a career as a medical receptionist which I started studying last year (Oct 2017). I have a fiancee where we have been together since 2009, engaged since 2013 and are planning our wedding that will occur in 2019. I am very easy going an would love to build a community where I can grow and connect with people from all different parts of the world sharing everything about books.

I absolutely adore books and would like to share my thought and the books I read with everyone so I thought, why not blogging.  What got my started with the idea of completing blogs is when I started watching Youtube with all the reading  Vlogs from people such as:

Hailey in Bookland (https://www.youtube.com/user/hailsheartsnyc/)

PeruseProject (https://www.youtube.com/user/PeruseProject)

Little Book Owl (https://www.youtube.com/user/LittleBookOwl)

A Clockwork Reader (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYejuNiTTA3yCxVSOTyj7yA)

These people are lovely and have opened my mind to all different genres of books that I never thought I would be picking up and purchasing at my local books store. I will continue to view their opinions to get someone else’s point of view.

I have a Goodreads account (https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/18160757-rechelle-u) where I store all my books that I have read, currently reading and books I would love to get my hands on and read. I fell like I need a better place to do my reviews rather than just on the book’s page on goodreads. Please feel free to view my account and add me as a friend to get this community happening.

Blogging will be something to do in my down time (other than reading of course!) and give me a space to give my honest opinion no matter if I like it or not. Everyone deserves to have their own opinion even if it is different than the majority of people.

That’s a bit of a run down on who I am and what I want to accomplish with this page. Please support me and hopefully this can grow and be as successful as I want it to be.

Feel free to leave comments below to be able to communicate to everyone on this page
